Purchasing a home treadmill allows you to work out no matter what the weather is like and avoid the gym if it's not your scene -- but home treadmills can be bulky. If your Lifestyler 8.0 treadmill is taking up too much space or you simply want to store it, you can lower the upright arms that attach to the handles so you can fold it up and store it under a bed or against a wall.
Unplug the treadmill's power cord before preparing to fold and store it.
Use the 7/32-inch Allen wrench that came with your Lifestyler 8.0 treadmill to loosen and remove the bolts under the handrails on each upright arm.
Remove the bolts on the bottom of the uprights that are closest to the back of the treadmill.
Loosen the bolts on the bottom of the uprights nearest the front of the treadmill. Don't remove these bolts completely or the uprights will completely detach from the treadmill.
Push gently on the upright arms to fold them down toward the back of the treadmill. The uprights will slide down on either side of the walking belt.
- Make sure the uprights are securely tightened when you're ready to use your treadmill again.
- Store the bolts you removed in a plastic sandwich bag taped to your treadmill so you can locate them easily when you reassemble the machine.
- Cover your treadmill with a tarp or sheet if you plan to store it for an extended period or in an outside building, such as a shed or garage.
